Dan Thomas went to barber school in El Paso, Texas, and began cutting hair in Silver City, New Mexico, in 1959. When the BYU Wilkinson Center first opened in 1964, Dan was hired as a barber and cut hair there for almost 50 years. He was Manager of the BYU Barbershop and MTC Barbershop for over 10 years. He opened his own home shop about 46 years ago and has many, many faithful customers dating back to when he first started at BYU.

Recently, a long-time customer commented, "Not only does he give the BEST flat-top in Utah, but you can tell he truly likes those with whom he associates. He is always so friendly and has great stories and insights to life. He has fulfilled his professional calling in life well. I respect and appreciate him and hope he never retires, because the only thing tougher than finding a new barber is finding a new dentist!"

Dan really enjoys talking with his customers and considers them all as good friends.

Dan and his wife Alice have been married for 62 years and have 9 children, 29 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
